Halloween Costume Ideas

So Halloween is my absolute favorite time of year!!! I love going to the corn maze every year (but only during fright nights), if there is a haunted house within distance i am in attendance, i spend hours, if not days, planning out my costume and my children's costumes and i love the imagination and confidence people have on this special day!

So here are a few ideas i have had for costumes this year:

Scary Costumes

Funny Costumes

Superheroes

Fantasy

Children's Costumes

So these are just a few ideas for a great Halloween!
So here it is October and i have totally slacked these last couple months!

Harry Potter lived up to it's hype with it's 6th installment Half Blood Prince. The movie delivered on, in my opinion, all fronts. The graphics were amazing, the scene where Harry gets pulled under the water in the cave was breathtaking to say the least! This series just keeps getting better and better!

GI Joe also came out this summer and as i was completely revved up when i took my seat by the end of the movie i was left feeling incomplete and a little cheated. The action and graphics were pretty good but i could care less about the characters, even with a well choreographed fight sequence with Storm Shadow and Snake Eyes, i couldn't connect with anyone. Definitely a rental movie! It actually reminded me of my feelings after watching Dungeons and Dragons (BIG letdown).

As for books i was able to read quite a few over the last couple month and will be posting reviews shortly.

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

I can barely wait for July 14th to get here and watch our favorite wizards story continue!

Half-Blood prince promises to be everything we could ask for visually from the Harry Potter universe. With more intense situations and broader locations HP6 has me wanting to reread the books just to bide my time for it's release.

Transformer's Revenge Of The Fallen

Transformer's

Having grown up in the 80's, I am a big fan of Transformers, so when the first live action movie came out i was excited but very skeptical... how can they possibly pull this off? Yet they did, all be it with a few changes every fanboy and girl noticed immediately, and we all walked out of the theater fairly impressed.

With the announcement of the 2nd film i found i was filled with anticipation, so as i headed into the dark to watch this sequel i tried to ground myself to reality and not expect too much.

I have read the reviews online and after watching it myself and being the fangirl i am, i fully stand behind this film. The effects were awesome to watch with more details than could possibly be seen in the time allotted. The story line consisted more of the transformers and at least a little less of the human actors. The appearance of a few time honored legendary transformers made you hop in your seat and squeel. All in all it met my expectations and flew beyond. I strongly recommend seeing this movie if for no other reason than the amazing imaginative story told.

True Blood Season 2 Premier

created by Charlaine Harris
adapted and produced by Alan Ball
With the premier episode of True Blood on HBO the show showed no signs of slowing from last seasons finale. The ever increasing pile of bodies continues to build as the characters try to move on and the past is dug up.
Sookie and Bill's love is tested but the question remains is it possible for a vampire to love a human and will their love be enough? Well time will tell and hopefully this season will live up to all of our expectations!

Repo - The Genetic Opera

Repo! The Genetic OperaImage via Wikipedia

Repo - The Genetic Opera

Repo is a gothic opera set in the future of 2056, a future where organ failure is the leading cause of death. In true American fashion a company named GeneCo has capitalized on human tragedy. Rotti Largo (
Paul Sorvino) runs GeneCo with his selfish and twisted children, Amber Sweet (Paris Hilton), Luigi (Bill Moseley) and Pavi (Ogre). To make organs more affordable Geneco offers a payment plan, but if your late Rotti has been approved to send a Repo Man to collect the merchandise. Nathan Wallace (Anthony Stewart Head) is the head Repo Man, a position earned by a debt owed to Rotti Largo. Shilo Wallace (Alexa Vega) is Nathan's Daughter and has been locked up and kept hidden from the reality of life. Other actors include Sarah Brightman, Terrance Zdunich, Joan Jett and J. Larose.

This movie is an exciting, imaginative must see! I love Repo! and have made all my friends watch it. The music tells the story with a depth of emotion lacking in mainstream media. The sadly true similarities between this future society and our current on is eye opening and horrific at the same time.
